Cumberland is located about 65 miles north from Eau Claire; 95 miles south of Duluth, Minnesota; and 90 miles west from Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Nicknamed the "Island City", Cumberland has a unique setting. The central part of the community is actually situated on an island.
